Walking Dogs
On Fridays I walk dogs.
I have volunteered at our local animal shelter for over 8 years and to say I love it is an understatement.
I mainly walk the dogs in the shelters care but hare been known to have to 'humanise' any kittens that may come in!! Someone's got to do it!!

I may well be volunteering my time to look after the animals, which seems like a selfless act but really it is totally selfish!
You see, that time I spend with the animals helps me. It helps me calm my mind and gives me a sense of achievement and giving back.
People often ask me "How do you do it?' and 'Do you not want to talk them all home?'. In short yes, I do want to take them all home but that is only because I love them all. How do I do it...easy, I know they have a good life at the shelter and quite often better than they had before. Knowing that makes me keep going back and keep walking those dogs.
